GIFCT Working Groups Application 2026
This short (±5 minute) application is to express your interest in joining a GIFCT Working Group in 2026. Applications are open through March 4th, 2026.

Background:

Since 2020, GIFCT has convened an annual series of Working Groups to focus on critical themes related to countering terrorism and violent extremism online. Working Groups bring together experts from diverse stakeholder groups, geographies, and disciplines to offer advice in specific thematic areas and deliver on targeted, substantive projects.

Each year, Working Groups are refreshed to update themes and focus areas and to allow new participants to join. 2026 Working Groups are focusing on the following three themes:

  • Signals Community of Practice

  • Gaming and Youth Working Group

  • Countering the Financing of Terrorism Online Working Group

Please review the descriptions of each Working Group below to make sure they align with your expectations as a participant. GIFCT aims for integration of our multistakeholder network within groups to meet on a varying basis depending on the scope, themes, and needs of each group. Some participants may also wish to lead on funded outputs attached to the group.

When GIFCT's Working Groups began in 2020, we ran monthly, hour-long sessions which included the entire cohort of each Working Group. Since then, based on feedback from participants, we have transitioned our model for less frequent sessions, typically tailored around specific research questions or themes, or tied into specific outputs; each session will be composed of specific selections of participants based on their expertise and interest areas.

Applications are confidential and for GIFCT internal processes only
