The indicator provides aggregate information on biodiversity-related funding in the EU mobilised through EU funds and instruments, in billion EUR at EU27 level. It has been designed to monitor the mobilization of funding from various sources to achieve biodiversity objectives in the EU and measures progress towards the €20 billion annual target set in the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. It is composed of three elements: financing from EU budget funds (including NextGenerationEU), Member State co-financing for these funds, and private and public investment mobilised through InvestEU.
