The economy of Sri Lanka rebounded strongly from a deep economic crisis in 2022 and 2023 and grew by 5% in 2024. Inflation decelerated rapidly and deflation of 1.7% was recorded by end-December 2024, driven by lower utility and fuel prices. Better supply conditions have also helped stabilize food prices.
To date, ADB has committed 499 public sector loans, grants, and technical assistance totaling $12.7 billion to Sri Lanka.
