Snapshot: CLEE 2025 Annual Report

Report Cover for the 2025 CLEE Annual Snapshot

This year, we faced unprecedented challenges – increasing climate disasters on a global scale, efforts to dismantle environmental protections, rollbacks in federal funding, and threats to the rule of law.

Amidst these challenges, CLEE’s mission remains vital. Our commitment to a sustainable, equitable future is unwavering. We continue to cultivate local and subnational partnerships, strengthen communities and infrastructure, and equip the next generation of environmental leaders to navigate our changing climate.

From fostering collaboration with civic institutions, community organizations, and tribes, to building broad coalitions across international borders, CLEE continues to focus on providing practical and effective solutions to challenging policy problems. When Los Angeles faced devastating wildfires in January, we responded to an urgent need for swift expertise, providing informed recommendations for a safer, more affordable rebuild. The Climate Risk Initiative developed and piloted a first-of-its-kind wildfire resilience insurance policy. Across all of our programs, we continue to tackle timely policy questions, including modernizing the water sector, sustainable land use and housing, reducing global methane emissions, and transportation electrification.

Your partnership has been instrumental in our success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our impact.
