Benchmark tech combines grid-level weather data with site-based IoT sensors to provide location-specific weather forecasts. RECENT WIN 🏗️ Benchmark Labs conducted a pilot at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, delivering point-specific weather forecasts to support maritime operations and future infrastructure development. Using an on-site weather station, their forecasts consistently outperformed the National Weather Service across all tracked variables—including temperature, wind speed, wind direction, and relative humidity—validating the accuracy and reliability of their approach. The pilot provided critical third-party validation ahead of major construction and energy development RFPs, demonstrating how site-specific forecasting can improve safety, planning, and operational resilience in complex port environments. 🗣️Don't just hear it from us. Benchmark Labs Inc., a company from our inaugural Accelerator cohort, is featured in Financial Times 📰 alongside our Hub program partner, New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC)! Our Accelerator was also highlighted as the key connector between Benchmark Labs and NYCEDC—demonstrating the power of collaborative innovation and public-private partnership 🤝. The article spotlights the work taking place at Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT), a 60-acre industrial campus on the South Brooklyn waterfront 🌊, where Benchmark Labs is piloting its technology through the Pilots at BAT initiative. There is mention of the offshore wind sector’s pivotal role in powering New York’s clean energy future, along with the efforts of Hub partner, Equinor, and other major offshore wind companies to help realize its estimated $70 billion impact on supply chain growth.
